Second post this week is another Warhammer classic batch of 25 x Goblin Archers.
These guys seem to have been the first outing of Night Goblins in plastic, with their iconic hoods and here a cheeky 'mini' robe, cut-off at the knees. I decided to try and do this unit in a midnight blue coloured robe, to be a little different from the black robes of almost all of my other Night Goblins.
I used a grey undercoat an then blue washes on top of this before a couple of Dark Tone washes to darken the overall effect, this has definitely given the figures a blue tint and I'm reasonably pleased with the outcome.
Skin was Army Painter Goblin Green - what else would it be! With a green wash over the top and highlights applied in the base colour. Equipment, straps, bow, quiver and arrows were painted as appropriate and these were washed in Nuln Oil to give shading and all was finished with Matt Varnish when dry.
A close-up of the other end of the unit! If you squint you can see the blue tint in their robes. |
Bases were finished with fine sand and electrostatic grass.
