AHPC XVI: From GrahameH -15mm Russian and Austrian Napoleonic. 272pts

 A very quick post this week as I am still trying to finish rebasing a few armies that I started before the challenge began. I had thought I had finished painting my Russian and Austrian Napoleonic armies last month, but I found these so thought I better get them done.

Napoleonic Austrian 

Half a Regiment of Austrian Cuirassiers (which means at some point I will have to purchase the other half!!!). Why do Austrian units have to be so large? 24 AB figures (96 pts)

Russian Napoleonic 

2/3 of a Russian Artillery Battery. Again AB Miniatures. (48 pts) 

Russian Cuirassier Regiment 

30 AB Figures (120 pts)

Finally the Command group for my Guard Cossacks (8 pts)

That's it. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos. The figures do look better in real life honest.

AHPC XVI: From GrahameH 15mm Byzantines Essex Miniatures 210 pts

 My first entry this year, now I have recovered from the Flu etc. I am currently behind on my basing so only a short entry. 

I was in the process of finishing my Byzantine armies when the challenge began, hence the entry. All figures are 15mm from Essex Miniatures. 

First three units of Byzantine Infantry. All figures are based for Impetus. Each unit is made up of 16 figures. (48 figures = 96pts)

Three units of Arab Archers again based for Impetus. Each base consisting of 8 figures. (24 Figures 48pts)

Two Arab Light Cavalry Units (10 mounted figures 40pts)

Lastly a Camel unit (5 mounted figures 20pts)

That's it. Hopefully more to follow once I catch up with my basing. 

AHPC XV: From Grahame H - 15mm Almoravid Legio Heroica Figures (248 points)

 Just a small post this week using up some Legio Heroica 15mm Muslims. I have a Muslim Crusader period army so these were left over from that. 

I am hoping to use the Muslim Crusader Army as the Muslim armies in Spain as they are fairly generic. However, apart from the Mamelukes, I have painted the outstanding figures as Muslims more specific to Spain. 

There are six cavalry units, each of 9 mounted figures and one unit of infantry, 16 figures.

I am about a third of the way through another army, but I'm not sure I'll get it finished before the end of the challenge, as I am away most of next week, but I will try and post what is done before I go.

AHPC XV: From GrahameH - Spanish Reconquista 15mm Legio Heroica and Modern French Foreign Legion

 As mentioned in my last posted I had decided to start an Impetus army after listening to the brilliant interview of of Lorenzo Sartori on the Yarkshire Gamers Podcast (a second plug for you Ken, not that you probably need it). 

Sartori is the Italian author of the Impetus rule set, and as I was struggling to decide what to paint next, listening to the interview was rather fortuitous. Hence a Impetus army made by an Italian figure manufacturer. 

The army however, is Spanish so the theme seemed to die off a bit here. All the figures are 15mm Legio Heroica, sadly it would seem no longer in production after the passing of the owner. The mounted units are made up of 9 mounted figures and the infantry 16. 

The Spanish Reconquista Army 

Its a smallish army consisting of 10 mounted units and 6 infantry. 

The Generals 

One C-in-C and two sub generals (28pts)

Two Hildalgos Units (Basically mounted Knights) (72pts) 

Two more Hildalgos Units (72pts)

Two more Hildalgos Units (72pts)

The Last Two Hildalgos Units (72pts)

Two Andalusian Cavalry Units (72pts)

Two Heavy Spear Infantry (64pts) 

Four Units of Medium Spear (128pts)

I have added Spanish shields to these as they figures are from the Crusade Range and they came with kite and round shields.

French Foreign Legion (FFL).

Yet again, Peter Pig tempted me with a discount voucher just before the challenge. Having no will power whatsoever I purchased some Modern French Foreign Legion figures. Then realised I would need some transport for them. So, while the Reconquistas bases were drying I painted the vehicles below.

These are six 15mm VBMR Griffon (3D printed but I can't remember by whom) 48pts

And one AMX 10 (8pts)

FFL points 56pts

AHPC XV: From Grahame H - The Last of the 15mm Samurai and Two 15mm Spanish Tercio (358 points)

 Just a small posting this week as I bring my Samurai army to completion.

First up two units of Ronin each of 16 figures. These are 15mm from Two Dragon Products (Dixon)

64 pts 

The Baggage and Stuff. 

Three Large Pavise (6pts) , a very large drum (6pts)  and a Samurai getting on his horse (10pts). I have scored each piece of equipment as 2 pts. Hope that is ok. It was just easier. (Total 22pts)

There are four bases of baggage with a total of 30 figures (60pts)

Finally a Camp?

There are 12 figures on this base (24pts). In addition to the usual Dixon ones, I have added some Essex figures as I need a seated general, and as I don't like throwing figures away, I added his Essex body guard (which may be from an earlier period than the rest of the army)

So the Samurai is done (well for the moment - an army is never truly finished I'm told) 

Total 170 pts

Before I started on my next project I thought I'd have a play. I have always wanted to make an 80 years War Spanish Army but never really liked how Tercio were portrayed in the rules I have seen. I did start this army a few years back and some of the figures were shown on this site in previous challenges. However, I noticed that Baroque rules had a whole Tercio on one base, rather than made up of lots of smaller units, so I gave it a go with the remainder if the unpainted Spanish I had. Anyhow, two Spanish Tercios, 15mm Essex figures. Still not sure. 93 figures 186Pts

I have already started the next project so something new in my next post.
