A group of these native Alabamans and Georgians have recently become known as 'Ripper’s Rangers' within the Division.

The startlingly young, General Ripper has been known to don a disguise and locate an appropriate location for a raid, and then his unit would strike. Ripper’s Rangers are becoming famous for their quick raids and ability to elude Union troops by “disappearing” among local farmers and townspeople.
It seems Ripper's favourite disuse is that of a New York Dandy, looking for the local theatre, he dons a top hat, black cape and uses a silver capped walking stick to weave his magic. On such scouting missions he carries no firearms but does sport a very sharp knife tucked into his boot top.
They have gained notoriety when recently joining a in a raid at 'Old' McDonald's Farm & Mill, with General Kirby-Smith's Corps, where they captured Union over 120 Union supply wagons, livestock, and many horses.

' Eee I had cows on that farm, I had pigs on that farm and I had goats on that farm. Now it is so quiet with everything gone - I don't know. I hear the kids making noises pretending the animals are still around...'
Even President Lincoln is said to be more grieved by the loss of the wagons than of the supplies, saying, “We can make more corn in five minutes, but the wagons and horses cost $125 apiece.”
